Tower of San Martino della Battaglia

If you are looking for a nice idea for a trip out of town suitable for everyone and a few kilometers from the campsite, the Tower of San Martino della Battaglia could be a valid solution.

The monumental complex is located about 20 minutes by car from the campsite and admission costs €7,00 per person. A short walk from the entrance there is also a large free parking area available for visitors.

The Tower of San Martino is one of the most important symbols of the Italian Risorgimento.

The visit to the Ossuary of San Martino della Battaglia is free, but if you would like to visit the Tower and climb to the top, you pay an entrance ticket which also includes the entrance to the adjacent Museum. The Tower is about 64 meters high and, once you reach the highest point, you can admire a magnificent view of the entire surrounding area. The path to climb to the top is suitable for everyone, as there are no steps and it is easily accessible by walking. It is also an interesting experience for children, who can learn something about the history and milestones of the Italian Risorgimento through the frescoes that decorate the inside of the tower.
